Lots of good stuff going on here, but I would suggest you crop out the empty blurred foreground. I think the image is better without it. Nice work.

Re: Focused On A Leaf, Sunset
i thought about doing that, but i really thought the blur brought a neat effect to the shot, but thanks, it is something i thought about.
Thanks

Re: Focused On A Leaf, Sunset
Devin,
I agree with croping out the blurred foreground it detracts and defocuses the viewers attention from the leaf. I would also crop most of the background as this adds nothing to the leaf which I assume is supposed to be the primary focus.

I went ahead and cropped the shot, not sure if it;s any better.... Both the new and original are there.
Re: Focused On A Leaf, Sunset
Hey Devin,
I love these types of shots, and how they help us learn to control depth of field..I think you captured that well with this shot. Although I like the leaves as your subject, I find they are lacking in impact for the shot. The top leaf looks pretty dark (at least on my monitor) and I would love to see more detail in it. I think your cropped version helps bring out some of the details in the top leaf better than the original.
