    Focused On A Leaf, Sunset
    Took this last week in virginia. These leaves were just sittin on this banister, thought it was neat, what do ya think

    Lots of good stuff going on here, but I would suggest you crop out the empty blurred foreground. I think the image is better without it. Nice work.

    i thought about doing that, but i really thought the blur brought a neat effect to the shot, but thanks, it is something i thought about.

    I agree with croping out the blurred foreground it detracts and defocuses the viewers attention from the leaf. I would also crop most of the background as this adds nothing to the leaf which I assume is supposed to be the primary focus.

    I went ahead and cropped the shot, not sure if it;s any better.... Both the new and original are there.

    Hey Devin,

    I love these types of shots, and how they help us learn to control depth of field..I think you captured that well with this shot. Although I like the leaves as your subject, I find they are lacking in impact for the shot. The top leaf looks pretty dark (at least on my monitor) and I would love to see more detail in it. I think your cropped version helps bring out some of the details in the top leaf better than the original.
