“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed, and is, thereby, a true manifestation of what one feels about life in its entirety...” - Ansel Adams
I agree with Brian , it is busy. I feel that if you had moved the camera over to the left so as to put the couple all the way in the right frame and focus on them with a wide open aperture to blur the rest of the scene, you would have a stronger composition. Just my thought.
I don't find it too busy depending on what you hoped to convey. I like the busy-ness of the shot, but I do agree that perhaps it would have worked better if the couple had been more in focus. To me, it's like they are about to enter into all the craziness and are taking one last breath before doing so. Holding each other for support. I do like the shot however.
Yeah, I was thinking I should have done it the other way around.
The couple is from Madison, met in college, and is moving out of state. At this point we were pretty much done, but on the way to my car, a parade came thru and held us up. Which is typical Madison. A quick shot before we missed it, kind of a life in Madison thing.
