[Gorge Trail] Waiting for Dad....... again.

When I got to these stairs on the trail, I just had to snap this of the family. Oh the hazard...... of hiking with someone with camera in hand just shows on their faces. This was the only regroup. They raced on ahead and beat me to the car before the rain came back.

I love this trail. We've been hiking it since before my daughter could walk.

p.s. This is not intended to be a serious submission. It is just a scene that maybe some can relate to...

    Tim,

I love this. I know the feeling of being in a group and having the others either race ahead or complain as they follow you. I love your daughter's expression! Very unique and great timing! Nice shooting Tim!

Tim, I know this feeling all too well... My girlfriend is always waiting for me when we go hiking together...

This is great Tim. It took a little while before I saw the third person and then that just strengthened the feeling of a group waiting on the dawdler. I used to see that a lot.

Keep it up. Those kids are learning that a person can get something from looking a little closer at what's around them. In not too many years they'll probably be finding things that they want to take you too or at least share the experience of their seeing it with you. It's really gratifying when it finally starts to happen. A couple weeks ago my daughter took me for a walk in the woods to see her favorite tree (she still had to wait patiently a few times) and my son in Iraq tells me about observations that he has around Iraq that many soldiers probably don't notice.

    You're a good Dad.

Oh YES YES YES! I have been there so many times. With the wife and four kids we played this scene over and over through the years. You did a very nice job telling the story and the wife seems be with the program even if a shade reluctantly so hard for the kids to understand how important these stops are to us. You should see my kids going through the pictures form 20 years ago now though and the memories that come flooding back to them. They seem to be a little more willing these days to indulge Dad and are eager to get prints. Thanks for sharing this moment.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

    Totally can relate!
I have three boys, plus hubby. Ive seen that expression MANY times. That said, I love the composition here. The placement of everyone around the trail and surrounded by such greenery is great!
