Florence sunset
I'm thinking my photography is getting redundant. I tend to go for the same thing all the time. Atleast i'm conscious of it now. They say variety is the spice of life, I missed that class. lol ok, anyway. here's another shot from Florence. I promised my self to try new things the next time I go out shooting. So what do u think?

Re: Florence sunset
All of your posts are beautiful, and this is no exception. If do something well, then continue on until YOU don't enjoy it any longer. After seeing this series of shots, I'm inclined to try it sometime myself.
Thanks,
Phil G.

Great shot, I like it just like it is, Jeff

Re: Florence sunset
did you clone a lot under the bridge?

Re: Florence sunset
Nicely captured and composed.
Is that a plane over the furthest large building next to the dome or just a smudge?

Re: Florence sunset
Beautiful hope we can go again soon.
I hope it is OK to tell a short (?) true story that came to mind.
A couple of morticians in our town wanted to visit a casket manufacturer in Tennessee just across the Alabama line.
They were told Florence was the closest airport, so they called Delta and purchased two tickets.
Went to Columbus (GA) airport boarded and had to change planes in Atlanta.
When they landed in Florence they walked out and got into a taxi and asked the driver how far it was to the Tennessee town.
The driver jerked his head around and gave them a puzzled look and said::’Bout 500 miles.
Have you guessed where they were, ........................ Florence SC.
Just had an after thought, due to their occupation do you think they were navigating using "dead reckoning" ?
Once again the picture is fantastic for me, and I’ll bet it is Italy. Am I right? :D

Re: Florence sunset
Liban - It's a very pretty shot so I wouldn't harp on yourself for seeing nice scenes and photographing them. But if you think you need to expand your horizons a bit, maybe you should - check out the photography section of libraries and see some of the different styles that people have and the books they've put out. Many shoot all people shots, which is a totally different scene.
Btw - I like the shot a lot but I wonder if it would be even better if taken w/ a wider angle lens. You could then crop it as desired, not really needing to keep it as a 3/2 ratio.

Re: Florence sunset
Jeff, thanks man.
Caleb, no, i didn't touch this photo at all. what caught your attention under the bridge?
Roger, no, it's a tiny cloud in the distance.
Thanks Esther.
lol gotrocks. Yep, u guessed it right :D and a funny story.
GB, thanks for the suggestion. I love browsing photo books whenever i get the chance. There are so many styles and subject matters, i think I just haven't found my niche. I think i might have a shot of the other side of this. I'll have a look through my pics. if I find one and the exposures match, i'll stitch them and post it here. That would give it the wider angle that you've suggested.
Thanks all for your replies! :-)

Re: Florence sunset
Being nitpicky, I maybe would have placed the bridge a little lower in the frame, so it's at the bottom 1/3 of the frame as opposed to half way.
It's a great shot none the less.

Re: Florence sunset
Liban,
Each time I open this up that cloud grabs my eye and spoils the photo for me. However it may look different printed large, I would consider removing it.

Re: Florence sunset
Leels I love the image. I wouldn't mind seeing it a large print. I would image the detail in the buildings would be great. I think your series just gets better. It's all about style, shoot what you like. LOL

Re: Florence sunset
I don't see why you should change a thing

Re: Florence sunset
I enjoy opening your threads and seeing the eye candy that you normally post. It is good to have a subject matter and style/approach that is recognized as your own, especially when it works so well.
I like this. The golden hues and the blues and pinks make a great visual as well as the treat of the mirror reflection in the water.
Looks just fine over here.

Re: Florence sunset
danic, I hadn't noticed that till u brought it up. it's still slightly off center ;-) but suggestion taken!
Roger, Thanks, i hadn't noticed that either till u mentioned it!!! That's why we all post here to learn and pick up stuff that we ourselves never thought off. Thanks :-)
Greg, much appreciated. Yeah, I think you're right. As long as I enjoy these scenes i shouldn't modify. plus i love that u call them a 'series' i've always wanted to do a series, and maybe shots that look alike and have the same theme are really a series. haha.
95PGTTech, Thanks man. u should tell us your name your digits are tough to type ;-)
Gary, Awesome, I'm glad u like it and thanks for the compliment, much appreciated :-) I hear you about the style and look. I haven't looked at it that way prior to your and Greg's comment. It's a refreshing realization.
Thanks all.
