    Five pics from this weekend.

My wife and I took a couple pics over the weekend and I'd like some critiques of a few of mine. Sorry to bombard you with two posts within something like 4 days.

All pics were taken with my Nikon D40.
Pics 1, 2, & 3 were taken with my 55-200mm (Nikkor 2156) Lens using my wife as a model.
Pics 4 & 5 were taken with the 18-55mm kit lens

Pic #1 - On this one, I should probably have cloned out the sign in the background, and I might do that tonight.

Pic #2 - Not as HARD focused as I'd like, but I think it's a halfway decent pic nonetheless.

Pic #3 - I just like this one... The lighting and focus just came out perfect imho.

Pic #4 - Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

Pic #5 - Something about the lighting seems a little bit off in this one to me. Any suggestions? Fort Worth Botanical Gardens also.

Thanks for any critiques of these images!

Hey these are pretty dang good! Yup, get rid of the sign in number one, you might also want to crop away some of the empty space in front of your wife.

I've got no complaints with two or three.

Number four... ummmm, too close to the lantern. Sorry, but I think I would delete it.

Number five I like a lot. It looks very well composed and the lighting doesn't look bad on my monitor. Well done!

How about this one? There's a person in the background that would obviously have to be cloned out before it was right though. :-P

It's better than the other lantern shot, but it just doesn't work for me because the bottom is missing. I think to get a good close-up of something like this lantern, a vertical shot might work with a very shallow DOF (while keeping the lantern in focus of coarse).... just my opinion and I could be wrong.

Thanks for the hints :-) I'll keep that in mind next time around. I'm still a noob to all this (bought my first "very own" slr last week (used my wifes before that)).

A couple of things, when posting here..
Please keep file size to no more than 640 x, a lot of people still have dial up or smaller monitors, it makes it easier for downloading.
I migh also suggest posting only one photograph per thread, you're more likely to get better feedback that way.
    Thanks!
