    first time in the pit ( gallhammer )
    i manged to talk my way into a venue on saturday to take photos in the pit at the birmingham barfly , to take photos of japanese band GALLHAMMER, first time taking pics with this type of fast action and fast lighting.. trying to focus was a pain!!! a few of the better pics. let me know what you think

    i used my xti with the 50mm 41.8 lens and the 18-55mm lens that came with the camera (any other cheap-mid price lens anyone could recomend for this type work? )

    I think the first image you posted is by far the best of the set. You filled the frame with a striking image and the colors are interesting.

    The B&W images don't work for me and the last image is just too blurred.

    It isn't bad to get even one good image for your first concert shoot. The key is of course location and timing. Keep it up.

    i had so much trouble trying to get good focus and balance with the way the lights were moving so fast, any tips on how to get better focus, i was using auto focus ( someone eles taking photos there said after its better to use manual)

    what other lenses would be ood for theses type photosor what could i do diffrent to get less blured/soft images and get much sharper photos?
