First "Professional" shots.

This was my first paying shoot, and I have several, most are black and white, they were really really pleased, but I was curious to what you guys think. Here's one, I can post more here if you want...

I like your use of DOF here, but the background would have been even better if you could have eliminated those buildings - the trees on the left side look good. You did a good job getting them to look natural. A little more sharpness in his face would be good. But, hey -- they were happy and you got paid! Congratulations on your first sale!

This is different, or should I say familiar, as it looks vintage - colors, clothes and even hairstyles. I could nit pick, but like it for that reason. Good emotion shot, which makes it great.

Excessive blue, the photo could be warmed up quite a bit. and the blue should be calmed down quite a bit. I also would have either cut off at waist line and cropped in much closer, or, placed their legs in a more dynamic posture. Good expression, exposure, focus placement.

First sign of doing things right, is a happy client. So congrats on your first successful paid shoot.

As for the critique, I would agree with the overall blue tone tendency, although I do not find it that bothersome... better focus on his face would surely have been more welcome... i agree.

What I would add to what's been said, is the following: The framing is a bit too centered for my own personal taste... I have issues with centered :)... also, the corp on the feet could use more space...

But that's nit-picking! Nice job!

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help. It's actually a flood wall behind them there, this was down at the riverfront, and everything looks so blue because the sun just went down. Also, this is the way they tend to dress normally, lol. They are a very "old couple" and he's a grown up indie kid... so the flannel just kind of fits who he is....

Glad you guys liked it, I'll try better on the focus next time.
