    Any comments about this picture?
I took it a few month ago in Geneva. I didn't have my tripod, but I wanted to capture these two kids sitting there.

I really like it. You've captured it well although a tiny bit on the dark side on my monitor. The kids are hard to spot but overall a lovely pic. You must have some steady hands ;) I woulda made this pic into one giant blur the way I hold the cam. Welcome to PR by the way.

Thanks. I shot it at 1600 ISO and used a small wall... that's the trick. ;)

Welcome to PR, Cascador. Very nice image. Love the composition and the colors with the sunset. Having the kids as sillouhettes really makes the image for me. Just how did they get up there though?

Now, that's a good question. Everybody is asking me this, but I must admit, I don't know.

You might be able to find out depending on whether you shot it digital, or film. It may have to be still in your camera, but you can bring that image up in the LCD then hit the info button which will bring up the histogram for that image. Don't take this as exact since I am only going on what I did with a borrowed digital camera. ;)

were there hand/foot holds on the posts that they coulda used to climb up? might have been a cool shot to sillouette one of them diving off of there, if that's how they got off.

    Cascador,
This image is really stunning. Great eye! I can't think of any improvements you could make. Looks like it was a cold swim back to shore for those kids.

I really like this photo! The darkness of the sky and the water shows mood and the posts in the water give the image a sense of depth. The lighted far shore gives it some awesome contrast! Great shot!

    Re: First post

Cascador, welcome to the forum. I'll have to be honest here and say that this image is not working for me , for a few reasons. first, it is way too dark, and very difficult to really appreciate the kids sitting up there on the pole. Second, I think the composition would be stronger to have the kids in the left part of the frame, as right now they are looking out of the picture. Third, the horizon in this feels too close to middle for me and slicing the scene in half.
I appreciate the difficulties you had overcome to get the shot in the first place, and considering, you did well. But, this is just my honest opinion.

    Cascador,

Welcome the forum, always great to have new posters around. Unfortunately, I'll have to agree with Gary. I had to look twice to find the kids, and the picture, atleast on my laptop, is quite dark.

However, I would love to see more pics of Geneva,

    Welcome to the boards,

    Jared
