    I'm thinking it looks like she is squinting into the light or the distance-probably not the best look. It is always good to actually see eyes in a portrait.

    Also don't be afraid to crop really tight. I also wish there was something really white in the image somewhere.

    Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this image is bad or anything but I am sure with just a little learning and practice you will be able to really pop some portraits as she seems to be a nice looking model.

    I'm a rookie. But, I would consider cropping this picture much tighter. As a general rule, really filling the frame seems to help my shots. Also, as was already mentioned, seeing the eyes of your subject often makes or breaks a shot.

    The portrait, this is not a keeper, no cropping will help, sorry. You have to get your subject relaxed and the key is in the eyes.

    I'm not a portrait photographer but you should look at the portraits of other photographers.
