    Fire People: Take 4
I think I posted this one back when it was brand new, which would be almost two years ago. I've done some re-editing to it so I'm sharing again.

Details: Tripod, F22, 30 sec. exposure, flash mounted on camera and peripheral flash bursts surrounding the subject.

Comments and Critiques welcomed. Suggestions cheerfully explored, but please leave the editing to me.

I think i remember this one Cindy. Whatever you did, this looks very good and i think is the best of the bunch so far, and there are some good ones in the bunch

To me this isn't the best of the bunch primarily because of where she is in the frame. I have also been liking the strong flames in your other fire images and the simplicity of your compositions.

This one has a lot of things going on without any main focal point for me.

OTOH I really like the way you used multiple flashes to get all those arms in there. I'm think this would be a great technique for some strong stuff. Hmmmmmmmm...............

This one isn't my favorite either MB. She is using practice poi which don't light on fire but do have small LED lights inside. I posted it because I wanted to see if the sharper details for my main subject would strike a chord with anyone more so than the swirlier shots. Basically for comparison for myself as well. I like the effect of the multiple arms and faces and will be trying to achieve some similar effects when I go out with them again.

JT, Don, and Gary - Thanks so much for your comments and input here. I want to reanalyze all of this older work so I don't waste my time with "non-starters" at my next opportunity.

CL - I like this one better. It has more humanism to it. The others were good too but somewhat aloof. This one you can see her face well, she's smiling, and seems to be inviting you in so to speak. The upper area of the photo is a bit of a letdown compared to the rest.. seems cold vs the warm glows of the fires, but I don't know if I would crop it. I like the red foreground.

Nice job. This one is a lot closer to "the pic" that we were mentioning was out there waiting to be captured. Not sure when it will be caught .. :)

The main problem I have with this one is she is too close to the frame. The background fire also seems to distract a bit. Your peripheral flash might have killed the light from the LED.
