Fire Hydrant
I took this a while ago, thought it looked pretty cool.

Can you go back to this place? The reason I ask is that I would really love to see you shoot this cool hydrant from really close up. I sort of envision centering on the space between the two orange covers. One would be in the upper right of the frame and the other in the lower left of the frame. Then all you would see would be pretty much orange covers and white hydrant. That might look cool too. I wish we had hydrants like that here - I would run out and take some shots.
Thanks for sharing the cool hydrant.

As Connellj stated, getting in close to the hydrant would be much more effective, as it's lost amid all the empty space you have in the frame. Check all around your viewfinder before pressing the shutter...there's much too much dead and uninteresting space in the foreground. Keep at it. :-)

Yeah I agree - there is a lot of potential in the hydrant as a subject but I think to make the most of it you need to get in close and lose a lot of the space around it - particularly the empty road in the foreground.
