As what may be considered the instigator (or inspiration) of this work i feel the responsibility to post regarding the result. I like it. I think you realized the problems with the original and set out to correct them. I am not sure if the result alone stands as a photo, but I think the transition illustrates the learning and the understanding you now have about the photo. This looks like it was pretty tricky, thanks for showing us your vision.

Nice work, that is a great improvement over the original. I would have to disagree with the previous post and say that the revision does "stand alone" as a photo. I like it and really liked seeing the before and after. Good work.
