Some random crap in a junkyard shoot I did awhile ago. I got my "portrait of the artist" shot from this same junk yard. Rust and rigid members are a wonderful combination.

    Re: penetration

Oh yeah. Lots of deception involved. Ha. It is funny to listen to all the people talk about how something does not look "natural". Well, for color accuracy I think they are right, but photography for the last 150 years or so has NEVER looked natural. Not even close. Once real HDR monitors come out, then maybe. People carve the world into little pieces. They use the traditions of their art to relegate chunks to the outer darkness. But it is ALL artifice and prejudice. All of it...

Yea. and with everything being on computers nowadays. You can look at a shot on one monitor and it be pretty damn good. Then go and look at it on another monitor and it look like crap because the brightness, contrast, and color on that monitor isnt the same as the one that you edited the photo with.

    Re: penetration

Yeah, that is a problem I have not confidently solved. At this point I make it look as good as I can in Pshop and then assign the sRGB profile and hope for the best.
