    I love this photo!
My only nit is that I wish she weren't so close to the left side of frame.

She looks so forlorn and the surroundings seem to show why. I want to go buy her some shoes.

    I agree with Frog.
Perhaps a crop to just to right of the window will bring it close enough to the rule of thirds.
    Her expression is classic....:)

Thanks you guys! I'll try a different crop. The original had more to the left, but there was a door there that I cropped out.

    This better?

    I love it too!

My major problem with it wasn't the comp at all (I like the original), but the sharpness of the subject. It is a great shot, though.

Hope you don't mind.... I played with your picture... super cute girl btw.....

I played with contrast on the fence and curves, than did a fill flash on her in PSP, added catchlights in her eyes, turned BW with orange filter, then last turned sepia....and crop

    Re: On the fence
I like your cropped version better, too.
There's a lot of room to play with this one as Chow did.
    Hope you shot in raw.

Chow did an awesome job on the edit, but the sepia isn't working for me at all.

Thanks for all the replies! And no, I don't mind you trying a few things at all Chow. I like what you did - except doesn't it bug you with the window almost right in the middle? I tried a crop that was close to that, but for some reason that window can't be in the middle for me.

The plants cloned out makes a big difference, I really like that! I think I'll have to go back in and do that to the original.

Frog, I did not shoot in RAW. :( I know, I know... I did for a while, but I never had time to do anything with the pictures and they just seemed to be taking up a lot of space... I should start shooting in RAW again now that I have more time.

    Re: On the fence
No, I am a very symmetrical person and I tend to break the rule of thirds alot.... I like things centered.... and I think in this case, since she is off to the side, it worked for me. I think showing more of the fence added more of a desolate feeling rather than just one playing by a fence.....
