    Feel like a crop?
    Hello Guys and Girls...

I have this shot I took at a wedding, and really like it... But know that its not technically perfect either ! That's where ya'll come in...Can you tell me what you would of done differently...etc. etc. :D

I have attached the full frame version, as well as 2 cropped versions... Trying to decide which crop to go with before i "go to print"

    Please Have at it!

I like the fullcrop version... is there any way that you can blur the cars in the background at all? They're very distracting. I think the biggest problem is that this was shot against a glass door as opposed to a solid one. The lighting is good, and the girls positions are great.

Probably the only thing I would have done differently is tried for a bit of DOF.

    gaussian blur..
Okay I tried a quick "gaussian blur" set at 1.1 - the edges aren't perfect, but i wanted to see if the setting is close ?

    thanks for any input!

I like the vertically cropped version much better, and it already eliminates alot of the unwanted bg. Yes, less dof would have been best, but this should not be too dificult to blur the bg and also try darkening the windows as well. I know that in the vertical cropped version we lose the other girl with whom the main subjects are talking to, but the other girl is not all very clear in the pic anyway and the two other girls stand out much stroger in the crop. A better overall composition

or try a vertical crop from door frame to door frame keeping the other girl in the shot. . . .blur helps but you need to darken the blur as well I feel

Gary... ( i'm a little unclear) Do you mean darken the edges of the window ? and blur what's left of the background in the vertical? I don't mind losing the little girl that was walking inside at all...

OK, I mean after you select the areas to apply your blur. . and after applying the blur. . .with the areas still selected. . just decrease the levels or brighness a bit to help cut down the bg and allow the focus to clearly fall on the girls. So apply blur and decrease brightness for the same selections
