Lochness?

I liked the repetive patterns.....but not sure if thats enough...so now I don't know how I feel about this shot.. Please let me know your thoughts...

Is the pattern enough to make it interesting? Or?

It's interesting, but if you have a chance to shoot it again, there are ways to make it moreso. Push the rope buoys out of the way, and put something in the foreground that can have a good focus (duck, maybe?). Then with the repeating pattern behind it, I think it would be very cool.....

Interesting idea. I think if this was to be more "Lochness-like" it would have to be much more out of focus and from a little farther away. Some ripples somewhere would help. The repeatative patterns are neat but I'm not sure if I can get my fill on them. Maybe it would work better in B&W.

For me , this is not working. But I do see an interesting image with that tubular thing in the bg by itself. When I crop all the way up to the tubular"monster" it's a pleasing pattern.

I like the composition but think it would work better with the distance in focus rather than the closest float. As it is my eye falls on the interesting shapes and colors in the backgrouns and then slides quickly up the improveing focus along the string of floats where i pauses momentarily on the nearest float before following the rope to the edge and jumping out of the frame. With the focus inverted the floats be a great leading line into the more interesting subject.
Is that a sculpture of part of a playground or what?

Rachel, you have a great imagination. I never would have thought "Lockness" in that structure. I think if you followed Chunks advice (everyone should always anyway!), and switch the focus next time you go there, it would be excellent. You could also crop (when shooting) right above the monsters back. I tried a couple crops that looked good. One was to crop right under the reflection of the float that is the furthest left. Now if it was from further away, Bill's right, an out of focus monster would have looked like all the lockness pics do. This close, though, I think it should be in focus since it's obvious its not the real one. is it?
Nice rich colors in the shot and I love the green reflection in the water with those crisp white floats.

Thank You all for you comments and opinions.. there was something about the image I liked but then had that feeling that the photo and mixture of objects made it annoying at the same time..Strange.

FadderUri Thanks for your ideas! This isn't too far from my house, so a reshoot is possible, The buoys may not be there, as the “pond” was being used for Swan Rides..but I'm telling you now, If i go back and the buoys are still there, forget it! (City Water is Yucky...Won't catch me in it! Not to mention I don‘t want to disturb the three-eyed fish..)

wposloski, thanks for your time, I did try it in Black and white, thinking the same as you did, but then decided that I liked the green in the grasses and the reflection... I just named it Lochness, because of the shape, but now see that your idea is a good one...wonder if i reshoot, would it make the Enquirer?

Gary, Thanks for your honesty! I think I feel the same as you about this image....There was -something- I liked about it - and now that you say that, I think its the Background. I just included the objects in the foreground because I saw a Snake Pattern being repeated in the wall, the tube, and the buoys…
I think maybe there's a clash of moods here (between the foreground and the background)

Chunk, Thank you for your critique…Upon Further Inspection, You are absolutely right, my eye follows the same pattern… hm. I’ll try to remember that in future shots, good point.

This was a shot taken at Fair Park in Dallas, TX, it’s a pond that has a fountain in the middle and has these interesting plants and walls, and concrete tubes coming out of it.
