Wow this is awesome! As I was scrolling down I thought it was a lot bigger than what it really is. What is that gadget the thinker is sitting on? Is it apart of the public art?
Ok I feel kind of stupid because your title is making me think this is offical public art, which should be bigger than it appears to be in your photo. But then maybe it is big? But it's not big because you have a bee and a leaf in the photo that you included for scale...
This is a great photo. I wouldn't change ANYTHING!
Thanks very much for the comment. I really appreciate it. The bee, for me, is what really helps make this shot, not only for the scale but to add some "personality."
On the campus of University of California San Diego is a walking trail of public art. Some ranging from as small as this sample (the Thinker is sitting on a handheld TV, one of the original Walkman with a 2" b/w screen) to massive sculptures.
I don't know what the artist was trying to convey with this piece but the lighting was perfect and just enough of an odd-ball piece that I had to take a shot.
