Drops of Purity
Shot this with Nikkon D90 using cross screen filter. Tell me what I can do to make my next shot better, or this one. I am new to the forum and really like what you guys are doing.

Re: Drops of Purity
For this sort of shot the item your taking the photo of should be pin sharp and you probably need a little more DOF to make this work.
Compositionally I don't like the branch cutting the photo into two parts so would have taken it at an angle rather than horizontal.
Nice idea and I thing you need to retake this and try different angles and DOF until you get one that really jumps out at you. Practise makes perfect as they say.
Hope that helps.

Re: Drops of Purity
From reading your EXIF data, this was shot at 1/125sec f/8 and 299mm focal range
I suspect your exposure and aperture are fine, you just need to get A LOT closer to your subject. I also agree that compositionally the branch is hurting the shot. try rotating the camera so the branch starts at the top left corner and ends at the bottom right corner, with the star sparkles landing at the 1/3 or 2/3 mark, instead of dead center. This is worth shooting again!
