From downtown to the mountains, and in between
Here are the rest of the shots from Tuesday. There might be a few too many shots here, but I just want to get through the batch and be able to move on... I know I dont need to post them all here, but the feedback is great and I thank everyone for any that is given. There is a little bit of everything here. I walked around town and took shots of whatever I thought looked good. The first is a shot of an alley/building. Then there is a quite random shot I took of a few daisies in the grass. It's nothing great, I don't think, but just thought I would include it since it was one I had. Third is a photo of a stand of trees in a city park. I wasn't going to do anything with the fourth shot, since I'm not sure how good it is, but for some reason I like it. Let me know what you think about it, and sometime I may be able to get a better version of this shot. Fifth is a vertical panoramic that I put together of a rider on the trail in the light of the sunset. Six and seven are black and white shots that seemed to turn out alright - they might work well in a black frame. The last shot is actually one I took on Thursday when I was testing out my new Sigma 28-70mm lens that came in the mail earlier in the day. Those are flags in the cemetery by the military memorial. Enjoy this batch. :) You don't need to comment on all of them at once, since I know I posted a few too many (and I try not to do that too often... I just take a lot of shots and am still learning/looking for any feedback I can get).

Dave...in the 4th shot was the wind blowing? The trees on the left look out of focus compared to the rest of the shot. My favorite of the bunch is the bottom one....the flags. We may need to open a flag thread.
Re: From downtown to the mountains, and in between
I dont remember the wind, so I'm not sure why the tree looks like that. I just liked how that one looked, and on a better day I'll try to get a better version of that same shot and see how it looks. Some of these shots are kinda random, but I posted anyway.
You think the flag shot should be in it's own thread?
Re: From downtown to the mountains, and in between
I really like No 6 - it is the kind of thing that tickles me and makes me wonder about the connection between the grafitti and the printed material. The one thing though is that the graffiti is a little out of focus. If you get the chance it might be worth reshooting it with a smaller aperture.
Cheers
Mike
Re: From downtown to the mountains, and in between
The spraypaint looks out of focus, but it's not actually. The paint wasnt solid color all the way thorugh and got fuzzy on the edges, as if they were spraying from a distance or something. But I know it's not out of focus, since I focused directly on that part. Also, I was shooting from a distance, so everything, even those trees in front, should be in focus. Thanks for the comments so far. :)

The flag shot is my favorite in this series, perfect.
I also really like #3, the colors are awesome.
#5 is good too, I like the inclusion of the biker and the colors in this one are awesome as well. I'm not sure the top of the tree needs to be in frame, you could probably afford to crop significantly from the top.

Yeah, I think that would work on its own. That said, with Memorial Day coming up, we should have a 'Flag' or 'Memorial Day' thread in Viewfinder for everyone to post their shots in.
Re: From downtown to the mountains, and in between
Ok, I'll put up a post just for the flag. I should have done that to begin with, since it was taken on a different day.
