Didn't get the meteor showers but..

This came out pretty neat. Not bad for hanging out my back window, holding my tripod on my lower roof and aiming my camera out, shooting blindly for 15 second intervals. lol

WAAAYYY better than I could have done. I like your composition, and the "northern lights" are cool looking. I find the night shots intriguing.

I swear my neighbors must think that i'm either completely nuts or a peeping tom! LOL I have the second and third floor of a 2 family so theres different roof levels that i'm always using for one shot or another. I have a cool marine view too - unfortunately I freeze my butt off because the wind whipping from the marina is chilly! I'm wondering if I should get some sort of tripod to attach to my window somehow so my tripod won't fall off the roof with my camera. Hmm. Santa?

Very alluring shot, nicely done. I would lik to see it in color.

Thats about as in color as I got for this particular one - shutter was open long enough to drown out the color in the tree which is already light colored and a light in a neighbors back yard was really being a pain, infecting my shots. I have 2 more, one with a shorter shutter speed and the tree is noisy brown. I'll post it.

Okay, this one is more colorful - still wish I shot a meteor! After I shot this one, the camera was doing it's thing for a few seconds and of course I saw one shoot through the sky. But that's the havoc of shooting with slow shutters. Maybe I should have been using my other camera too lol

I like this type of shots, specially the first one.
I guess you did not show all the tree trunk do to something blocking it....if not I would like to see it top to bottom

Well, I was aiming for the sky and a roof was in the way of the bottom of the tree lol

Agreed, not a bad shot at all considering you didn't even trek 100 miles out of town. I like that lone star/planet in the middle right on the black and white, which I prefer over the color. Try sharpening it up a bit.
