Does this work?
Hi all ... I took a few hours off today and went to the British Museum where they have this wonderful quote set on the marble floor. The idea was to play on the word "feet" with the feet of the museum visitors passing by. I admit I quite like it, not least because of the diagonal lines adding interest. What do you think? Any comments will be very welcome as I am inclined to work this one up as a club print.
Cheers

Re: Does this work?
It works for me - I like the way that most of the feet/legs are moving with a few stationary which just happen to be in the right places to create interest.
B&W is perfect for this and nice tones.
It just all seems to hang together with the Tennyson's words.

Re: Does this work?
i like it very very much. I would not change a thing. The vanish point of the words, the blurred feet, the b&w conversion, all top notch. Well done.

Works 4 me too - I like the B&W, as it adds to the overall marble effect,
and the blurred legs and feet give the still image life and motion.
Just one observation - all the feet appear to be of a male origin?

Re: Does this work?
Thanks all for the encouragement! I had this concept in mind as I took it .. I set the camera on a tripod and focussed about the middle of the lettering. Aperture was set at f16 to keep a good DOF. Time was about 1/2 sec (hence the blurred feet). I took about 25 shots, but this was the best of them - feet in more or less the right place without the lettering being obscured. It's sheer fate that none in this particular shot had any lady feet! :D
Thanks again to all who have commented this far.

Re: Does this work?
Not bad at all. i like how it takes some effort to read the quote, but its still possible to comprehend. the placement of feet is also nice because it gives you something more than just a vanishing quote. good work.

Re: Does this work?
I can't criticise, because I dont know enough about photography. However, I do know enough to say...that is one awesome picture. I want it for my wall, seriously. I'm a sucker for classic quotations mixed with symbolic images.
