I'll just make a new thread for this photo since it is a bit different. It may be a bit dark, or whatever, becuase when I edit on my computer it is a bit brighter than it appears on the internet. I try to correct for that but sometimes I dont get it quite right.

I really like the idea. To take it a bit further, I would take an older power bar so it seems that it's been there for 100 years. I would add some other stuff around, it's too clean. Unless that's the effect you wanted.

Colors and contrast are good.

Yeah, but I dont have any older ones right here. Also, the trees are small, so they clearly havent been there for 100 years. I do agree that it looks pretty clean... and darn it as I am writing this I now remember an idea I was going to do for the shot to change that. I'll try to get around to it tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me to add some clutter, no idea how that skipped my mind....
I should look for an older power strip too, but I think I may be going for the theme of being recent (relatively new power bar, young trees, etc).

Cute, but I think I liked your first attempt better. Where I thought you might go, was a power strip, without the soil, but small trees sprouting from several openings. This would be especially clever if it gave the appearance that they had been intentionally planted there--organized and aligned, or something. Maybe that's just the engineer in me...

I thought of that, but then thought it would be too orderly. I still might try though.

What I really would like for this one is frayed wires out the end, but the wires were cut off right at the base.

Ok, I went out into the rain and gathered stuff. I think it looks a lot better... less orderly, which is more natural if this is supposed to be in the outdoors.

I kinda like the 'cleanliness' of that first shot. As far as the photo not looking right on the internet, maybe you're shooting/editing in Adobe (or other color space) and not converting to sRGB (the color space of the internet)?

I think it's just that my editing program i a few notches up in brightness, because anything I view there as opposed to on my computer anywhere else is brighter.

I like the idea that something is lying on the ground, half buried in the dirt, with grass growing out of it. The water droplets are nice, and the contrast is also good. But a power strip ...... ??

Sure, why not? It has some symbolism I guess, also some stretch to imagination on my part. It was a very random idea in the end.
