    Discovering color

While on vacation, I purchased a photography book, and in one of the chapters it suggested to use color to enhance the interest of pictures. So, I made a point to photograph some more things with striking color. What do you think?! Thanks, Kevin

Success! I like all the shots here, but esp the bottom two. The kids with the fireworks has excellant composition also, and the flowers is just a greata shot. Might be nice if you could size them to the max size of 640 px btw - these shots are worth a larger view.

    Re: Discovering color

Thanks GB1. My sizing capabilities are at a limit, so I used a program from my Ebay account to size them up real fast. I'm going to get Photoshop Elements soon, I hope. I might even be able to do it with the programs I have now, but my limited computer skills only got me this far!

    Re: Discovering color

I think #1 might be better without the other colours, just sand and green.
#4 feels like perhaps too much colour, purple, red, green, white, black background, it all feels a little too busy for just a study of colour.
#3 I'm distracted by the bottle onf the right and the red things on the left.
#3 I really like, I think you've got it there.

    Re: Discovering color

The flower shot really shows color as a 'subject' nicely. There is a good range and though there is a lot of color the out of focus area help to mute it some and force the eye more towards the focused areas.

The green life ring though is the best color study of the lot as it takes a simple object/scene and uses a subconcious meaning of green to make its statement.
