    Dirty Face
This is going to be the title page of a series I'm planning about my grandchildren and their dirty faces. I hope you like it and I'm real interested in knowing what you think about my layout, as well as any critique on the photo itself.

    Thank you,

Great shot...I love the text on it, very snazzy and modern; a great addition if your going to do a series like it IMO. A few minor things here; would've liked to see all the hair included and maybe a little more of the right arm...or consider cropping it all off. The bar (?) in the lower right is somewhat of a nuisance, but I still think the great facial expression makes up for it.

BEAUTIFUL colors and DOF, glad to see the Pentax is working well for ya,

    Great shot.

Thanx Jared...nice catch on the hair...I didn't even see that til I looked at the fullsize shot...hehe...but I think it will be easy to fix...only a few centimeter crop higher...hehe...as for the bar...she was sitting atop a little slide and that is the handhold. I tried cropping it out, but it lost a lot of the character of the shot, I thought. One of these days I hope to be able to clone things like this out, but all I do right now is butcher things when I try...but I'll keep trying. As for the right arm...nothing I can do with that except crop it all out, which would take care of the handhold as well...but, as I mentioned, in my way of thinking, it lost a lot of it's character. But if anyone has any ideas on a better crop..please...FEEL FREE to show me.

P.S....Just checked the original...this is almost uncropped top to bottom, so the hair is unfixable... :( ...

    Hello Ken
This one does not work for me in the context of the series you intend to put together. Dirty Faces I feel are and possibly should be synonomous with mischief and fun and a little guilt even.
In this shot the little girl (a real sweetie) looks a bit startled to me for some reason and her face is not dirty enough if you get my point.
But it's a brilliant idea for a series.

What an adorable baby!! I really like your idea for a series...but I do agree with Overbeyond that she needs to be a little messier to fit the idea...hehe. The eyes are striking, and nice with the color of her shirt.
I actually looked at this and mentally captioned it "Fuzzy Hair"...:D

Thanx Tom and Emily...I was worried that I'd get that comment about not being "dirty" enough...haha..Tom...she was a little apprehensive...she's still a bit scared of slides and swings. As for the "Dirty Faces"...believe me...I have a lot more...I'll take into consideration some of the dirtier ones for my cover page.
    Again...thanx for the comments...

    Beautifull,

The expression is priceless, "What? My face is dirty?"

My only nit pick is the arm of the chair in the bottom right, other than that excellent.
