Tom, you have a great style and this one is no exception. What I really like about this one is the grain and light. It really draws me in. What I am having a difficult time with is figuring out what my eye is drawn to. I find my eye wandering around the picture, going from bench to reflection and back, and then following the tall window up and out, and then back to the bench. I’m not sure if that is a bad thing or not. It definitely keeps my interest and evokes several emotions, almost like an old Alfred Hitchcock movie or something. Thank you for another great post.

Tom, this really is a visual treat. As Adamo stated the eye wanders around the frame and for me this is a good thing as i never feel that i want to look away. A wonderful balance in this composition I feel. There is a triple play of patterns and textures and the light and shadow sets them off very well.
A really well composed photograph of a very interesting play of light, texture and patterns.

Tom I agree with the others. A display of great tones, texture and grain. Nice subject and cropped nice. One could have left portions of this one out of focus but this is sharp through out. It shows skills from an experienced photographer, well done.
Also, I like it that it is nicely skewed and straightened.

The combination of tight right-to-left framing and dark shadows top and bottom right give it a sense of stillness, claustrophobia, and impending...something. This is heightened by wanting to know what is happening in the rest of the room. There is no hint of action in the mirror, though that might have been interesting (but a different photo altogether).

    Thank you very much everybody.
This image was captured with my point and shoot compact. It was taken in the small Museum Of Irish Writing in Dublin.
Adamo: you covered it. To me it was only about the light coming through the blind. I still enjoy looking at it. It works well too with a crop to the blind only, at least it does for me.

Gary: Exactly as I see it. The faint images of the window behind the blind is what grabbed my attention.

Greg: yes I had to do a bit of straightening to be sure. Glad you are liking it.

Clayhouse; Thank you for the kind comments. I like you using the word "stillness" for this. I felt a silence and calmness about it too.
    Thanks to all again.

Well-seen, composed, and exposed. And very provocative - proof positive that less is often more. I wouldn't change a thing.
