An interesting composition Yoyo and lots of balancing compnents to keep the eye very busy! I like the number of different objects in this photograph, there does appear to be a lot of activity in the scene and the fact that there is only a small pile of rubble to show for all of this construction activity makes the scene even more interesting!
Hello Yoyo
It's a well filled composition to be sure but I feel it needs something specefic happening somewhere in the picture to give it some further interest. Presumably the dialogue is what is going on between the two drivers who have left their machines to sort it out among themselves.

BTW Thank you for posting a picture for me earlier on.
I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
Hey this isn't a bad shot! I'll be honest though and say it's not that interesting to me. How many shots of this scene did you get? A lot of times I'll take 20 shots of a scene like this just to see if I come up with somthing spectacular. What statement are you making?
Hi Devin,
Thanks for the comments. I interpret the shot as development vs destruction. Trees and mountains represent the natural environment. I hope the shot fits in with the series Dialogue.

Hi Yoyo,
I am liking your interpretation of this series quite a bit. I interpreted this dialogue to be one between the machine and it's surroundings but I did not necessarily grasp the environment of the scene until you pointed it out. Still others might be tempted to shortcut the interpretation in a gallery setting to assume it is the straight forward dialogue of the two people in the shot. I think your intent would be communicated more directly if the people were not in the scene. But that's just my thought. . .
I am possibly way off but I see a circular path here so to speak. The machine in the background is looking at the white truck which is looking at the machine in the foreground. This machine seems to be waiting for the humans to quit talking so "everyone" get back to work.
The picture tilting down towards the right is a bit distracting. I think if the fence in the background there was level it would be easier to concentrate on the artistic merits of the photo (which are great!!)
Ok now I see. That makes sense. This is just a thought. Feel free to tell me the idea is stupid but I think if you could have somehow framed it from the prespective of the crane "taking a chunk" out of the mountain side, it would have more of an impact on the photo.
Hi Devin,
Thanks again for your interest in this photo. I think the 2 persons are important as they are the ones who mastermind the construction or destruction. The 2 machines are just their tools. The people are not in the prominent place in the shot gives a hint that they are doing something secretly or they know they are doing the wrong thing. Does that make sense?
