    Da Mooooon

I took this unexpectedly one late night after having some wine on the beach... not even thinking about pictures. Guess I got lucky. Any thoughts on long exposure night shots? This one was about 6 sec. on a Cannon G3.

Some times its when your not trying that a great shot happens. I really like the color of the picture and those clouds are killer. Nice work. So far I have not had any luck with night shots, I'm always too unstill and the shot comes out blurry, especially after a some of wine ;)
    Did you use a tripod?

Yea, I definetly used a tripod. No flash, just open up the shutter for a couple of seconds. When this pic is blown up the clouds are actually a little blurry because they were moving so fast. Was not expecting that. Does any one have any good night shots of San Fransisco?

    Wow Noslocg,

This one leave me speechless (well almost ;) ). I wonder why they wont make it the "featured photo". The mood is stunning.

    kudos

The exposure looks to have been perfect for the mood this photo establishes. Often, I will bracket my time-exposure shots and find that I may get different photos that work on different levels.

The only nit-pick I have is to possibly clone out the small light on the horizon, on the left. But not necessary...

    This one works beautifully.

I really love those unexpected great shots. I absolutely love this one. The only thing that bothers me about the shot is the green colorcast. I am a novice, but would someone explain to me why this happens so much with night shots?

    Nina,

I agree, it is a bit green. I had it printed this weekend and the colors printed alot lighter than I had expected. The printed version actually did not come out nearly as good as I thought it might be, too bad. Thanks for the comments.
