Dayspring
I've not had any motivation toward photography since this fall. Trying to get back in the swing of things looking at some past stuff.

Re: Dayspring
Well that's a hell of a photo to pull out of the trash :D
I love the colors in this one and the clouds are nice but I still feel like there's a bit too much sky. I feel like I wander into that empty blue and just get left hanging there in that upper left side with nothing to interest me. It's sort of a compositional whirlpool in that corner. I know this is a big wish, but I wish it was composed with the mountains a little more equal in level. I have no idea if that's possible but it would have filled in that dead space a bit.
Regardless of the compositional issuse, this is still a beautiful photo. Since I know you can't reshoot, maybe you can try playing with cropping and see if that strengthens it a bit.

Re: Dayspring
If it helps get you out of a slump keep pulling 'em out and posting 'em!
That's a fantastic shot.
Great tonal range throughout.

Re: Dayspring
Great color, awesome shot. I agree with john on the upper left dead space. maybe some fake clouds could suffice as that missing interesting detail. I don't think it would take much, just a pinch of cloud up there to fill space. I think considering the shape of the clouds on the right, a crop might be a difficult thing to manage here.

Re: Dayspring
Thanks for the comments, I didn't want to lose the upper clouds to the right, that meant leaving the open area to the left. Weird morning, the clouds were hugging the Grand Teton in a weird volcano look. I took some shots that direction too, but I never really liked what I'd captured. The cloud over the Grand Teton would just hang there, I was hoping for some clearing along with the sunrise...never happened. Turning to the left this photo revealed itself, the peaks were pretty much in the clear, but the sky had the big blank to the left.

Re: Dayspring
Gorgeous landscape, beautiful light on the mountain peaks, and an excellent complement with the Autumn leaves at the bottom
