Loupey, I like the setup, but to me it needs a little more exposure.

X-Files Anyone? I really like the moody theme here Loupey and the curve of the perfect light circles as you look down the corridor. This would be a great compare and contrast image for a storage company that has a well lighted facility. Tired of looking for your stuff in the dark? Use U-Stall Storage. . . . . .

    Re: Dark Storage

From a art stand point I don't see anything here. But what I do see is the endless mounds of wothless paper work that man creates in an effort to document meaningless events. I like the way it curves to the right and how the lights are not blown out. I would like to know what is in the boxes, kind of a mystery?

I like it, if I has seen the row of boxes I would have taken the shot too.

    How can I be lost
If I've got nowhere to go?

    Re: Dark Storage

It does remind me of a few TV shows and movies. I wish it was a little bit wider though. Could use something, not sure what.. Maybe more contrast? I would also sharpen it a little, doesnt seem sharp enough for a tripod (if you used).

Scenes like this remind me of boring guard duty at 2 am

    Re: Dark Storage

John - thanks for looking and commenting. Dark I agree

CLK - I appreciate your comments. The repetition of the boxes and the curve of the corridor/lights are what attracted me to this shot. The execution was another matter Nice take for a compare/contrast series

Tyson - thank you for your view. I really appreciate it!

GB - I agree it's missing something. I shot several different versions of it and they all seem to miss the mark. I'd like to think that it was just a scene that was simply lacking one necessary element and not just me

Thanks all. I didn't want to give the what, where, and how prematurely to see if the shot worked without explanation. It was shot at the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, through a very thick security glass door. The boxes contain specimens and I believe that the humidity in addition to the light levels are kept low for preservation purposes. Shot hand-held at 1/15s, f/2.8, ISO 1600, with Canon 28mm f/1.8 on Canon 30D.

I like the composition and subject too. It does remind me of an old TV show, Get Smart. I don't mind it being dark. I like it, Well done.

It's neat. But a bit boring...and a little to dark. I agree with an exposure fix.

    Re: Dark Storage

I think you framed and composed this well. It does seem dark, or underexposed but I take it this is actually how dark the place is, and so i feel it is an accurate capture.I think this could work well as a stock photo.
    Good work as usual.
btw, the web site looks great.

    Re: Dark Storage

HDR would make this photo epic IMO. I really like the composition and the curve, but the underexposure kills it. Bust out the tripod and whip out 3 bracketed exposures.
I don't want it, I just need it...to breath ...to feel ...to know I'm alive.

    Re: Dark Storage

Gary - thank you for your comments. I do feel that it is an accurate representation of the actual scene. For that I'm satisfied. Thanks for taking a look at my website - hope to update it with recent images within the next week or two.

afdlips - appreciate you taking the time to comment. Although I strive to reproduce what I see how I saw it, I agree that it would have been interesting to see how an HDR version would have looked. Perhaps the next time we are there.
