    600 on longest side.
Looks pretty cool. I was actually going to try that but haven't got round to it yet.

Jake - I took the liberty of resizing your shot so that I and others could see it clearly w/o scrolling. It appears to be a very nice technique. Is it a screen saver? It reminds me of some expts I've seen (and did) long ago with a flashlight on a string above a camera on B. Very interesting.

    Re: Dark, slow shutter speed

sorry about the resize, it was IMG tag from photobucket, should have uploaded it smaller... oh well...
Im no pro with a camera, so I dont have the lingo and whatnot, but I turn the shutter speed to slow (if that makes sence) then while the picture is being taken, the camera kind of takes about one second, I shake the camera around and this is how it comes out. It is a picture of my computer in the dark! It looks neat too with cars driving by....
I made one here with a few other pics I shoved in, again, sorry for the size, but I like big pics... It doesnt look like cars does it? Try it, its really easy!

Resize your picture in PS to 640 and try again. This picture is wider than the side of my house....

I like big pics too but it does no good if it is too big too see.
It also makes it take a long time for dial up users to download.
I now understand why you didn't get a just a big blur with your slow shutter as it is the computer itself and not something moving on the computer.

    Re: Dark, slow shutter speed

Your shots have a cool but different look to them. You've come to the right spot if you want to learn more about photography, I have learned lots already in the short time that I have been here and am still always learning more, there are many here that know much and enjoy sharing their wealth of knowledge.
You could also try longer shutter speeds in the dark but have your subjects or light source moving to give it a different look, like ones of cars at night is a common one.
Heres one like of that style that I took the other day.

Rick - I responded to your comment... thanks, it was recovered quite a bit in post processing. I took it in Bodie, California, one of the most interesting places you'll ever find to shoot moody shots. Check it out sometime, but just not in the winter - it supposedly has the worst weather in Cali.
