Dark Pool

Enough here to hold your attention?

Kids swimming on one end, me drying off on the other end of the pool with camera nearby...

Mmmmmmaybe.
Mmmmmm no.
Not for more than a minute.

I like it. It looks like something off of a scary movie.

I like it. Kind of has a scary feel to it. What camera settings were used for this?

Loupey, there is definetly an appealing aspect to this, but not sure it has enough to hold attention for very long. I like the glowing water and it's texture. the tube floating on top of the lit pool gives this a sort of 3D rendering effect. A bit more light and detail at the top of the tube would help.
I do like the strange/weirdness of this though.

The unusual aspects of this view of a swimming pool work for me.

I like your placement of the innertube in the frame and the very dark overall look. I might like the color a little (or a lot) bluer otherwise I think this is killer!

Loupey - Hey this is really neat. I like the effect. It "floats" alright. Maybe a bit more fore than needed, but the only thing I could really suggest is to try a crop where the end of the pool isn't shown. Not sure you can get away with it though, cause it will put the innertube thing very close to the top of the frame.

It is interesting to see the range of responses. I know full well that images like this can go both ways (believe me - my wife looks at this and says "so what" :p ). I was really drawn to it by the little waves. As the tube drifted into view, I figured I'd wait and see where it goes in the frame.

Always a pleasure to put up something different (for me) here in the critique forum. I'm always blown away but what many of you do here.

I like the surreal aspects of the photo and for me the colours work very well. I also like how there is some light coming through the hole of the tube.
