Dangerous walk

I am still new enough to this forum that I might be breaking a couple of rules.

1. Too many pics on one post?
2. Pics not recent enough?

If so, sorry. I will not repeat mistake(s) in the future.



These were taken late summer. I am especially interested in your thoughts on the sepia pic, but would also appreciate feedback on the two color photos.

my favorite is the last one. I cant seem to find a focal point at all really, and they are a little too light. but over all good work! i like the idea:) good work

I like the composition but as was mentioned you didn't have very good light. Then again a different time might have made too many shadows.
I actually prefer the first or then the second as I like the feel of the person walking away as though they have already crossed that bridge.
Reminds me a little of the movie Stand By Me even thought their bridge was a lot longer.

I agree. I think the last one has the right crop.

Last shot does it for me...nice job!!

I like the composition best with the second one but wish the tracks in the foreground was more in focus. I think you should have tried to hyperfocal focus the shot and made it sharp from front to back. I think there was enough avaliable light to work with. I would focused just in front of the bridge, one third way into the shot.

Your thread is fine. These images are variations of the same scene and quite appropriate to show them all in the context of comparison.
I also like the last composition the best. Having more of the trees surrounding and framing the scene seems to add alot . Could have been a little stronger if the person and dog were a bit closer. The blank sky in the vertical compositions hurt this for me. i think Greg has a good suggestion for you about getting more dof next time in a situation like this.
The sepia tone is fine, but does nothing to add. Either way for me would work, although I think I do prefer the original color as the green trees are pleasing here.
