It is hard to make powerlines work but they do here. Nice DR. Maybe clone the one big line as it cuts right through the beautiful sky. Lovely colors.

    Liban,

I was just learning about balance. It is a little hard to understand and apply, but I was trying to think of it in terms of this photo. It seems that the photo may be a little heavy loaded on the right side ...and I am not certain that I can see where / how the person is balanced with lines or objects in the photo ...if the blue truck was on the other side of the road, it perhaps could have provided more balance ...not sure - thought I would share.

i see your point llew. but i don't think it's the truck. even if the truck was on the left, it would still be right heavy. the biggest house is on the right, the biggest tree is on the right, the light pole is on the right, the darkest line is on the right. but you're right it's definitely right heavy , thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts i didn't see this right heavy prior to your post.

    Hey Liban ,

Today i do not have a nice commentary, but the image does provoke an emotion ... so here it goes

This is more like a street photo, of an any day scene on a beach town in Mexico, is this Cuba ?

As street photo commenting much on the composition or what it could have been seems a bit pointless? Unless you take the comments into account and for the next time plan a location to be captured, then wait for a subject to step into the chosen scene

The wires, it is something I see often , every day actually, to me it is a sign of disorganization and lack of planning , as often people (near where I live ) put their own lines to anything available and steal the electricity, not saying that is the case here , but to me, capturing them on a photo is just a no-no, I would have tried to avoid them as much as possible, perhaps a matter of personal context, to others it may seem attractive

    Armando,

I see what you're saying. These are the nuances in life that we experience. some think, gosh, not one of those and others think woo, great!! I think the usual scene becomes normal and isn't appreciated anymore. and that goes to all humans pretty much. i'm sure people that live in switzerland can't take anymore mountain photos. lol.

thanks for your input man. really appreciated.

    Re: Cyclist

I dunno... I love this. It's just so satisfying to look at. The colors, comp, DR... everything is awesome.

I keep hemming and hawing over the crop and whether or not I'd like to see this chopped down to the top of where the power lines intersect on the right... and a little from the left to square things up. It would be a cleaner image, but I also love the clouds above those power lines, so... I don't know what to tell ya.

If it were mine (which I wish it were), I might consider content aware-ing those lines outta existence and saving the clouds in the process. But even if I did thus, I'd still be looking for a way to crop the image square, because I'm somehow thinking that square is the way to go here.

Really great shot, in any case.
