I've never tried this before. Usually reflections off sunglasses. This is cool. What settings did you use?

    Impresive!

I would crop it way closer, to leave just the eye

    Re: Reflections in the eye

Nice job. I've taken photos of my own eye and had a reflection in it, but it wasn't really intentional.

Very cool. Reminds me of this: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CJBHCUcfXl...ng_Sphere.jpeg

There are a billion possibilities with this. Maybe black and white and a little less crop?

    Re: Reflections in the eye

    Gooseberry,

I like the idea. Eyes are great subjects, although I think they're easier to draw than to photograph.

Your pic came out good for the most part, good creativity. I think I can offer one major suggestion: make the surrounding skin outside the eye socket darker, so that one's eye (ha) doesn't divert away from the eyeball. We always tend to look at the brightest areas, and most colorful, so a trick to draw someone's attention to a particular part of a photo is to make it lighter, red, etc. In this one, you want to do the reverse of that. You might also crop a bit off the nose area.

I don't think that's you in there is it? Looks like some artistic license.

    Re: Reflections in the eye

many thanks G. Yes, the light piece on the nose seems to distract, hadn't thought of darkening skin - I like it.

The shot was a model's eye and her husband's reflection. He had to be VERY close to increase size of reflection, dark light & backgroung to her front, with strobes reflecting off hubby's face!

    Thanks again!

Great concept and execution Gooosberry, only thing I might add is to look at either cloning or burning those bright spots at the top and bottom of the iris.

Isn't it a cool thing in nature that the colours never seem to clash...

I have no issues with you editing my photos
