Greg, this is fantastic! Please share some of the technical details on this shot, I think you have got it spot on.
Are those lights in the tree to the left of the image? They are slightly distracting as they don't stand out very clearly but I am nit picking, this is a great shot.
Thanks for sharing and please share the technical details.
I really like the colours and lighting you managed to capture and having the little green man on was inspired. Is this film or digital? The composition is excellent with the lines starting in the right bottom leading the eye round the corner. Reminds me of the times I was out in the middle of Wales waiting for rally cars to come through fforests, the solitude and tranquillity which gives you time to think and admire nature.
My only nitpic is the right hand edge of the building about halfway up; There is a little bit of something which distracts me which looks like a light shining on the wall.
Don't you ever sleep? The times you respond to posts seem to be middle of the night and now your out and about when no one else is, got to admire the dedication to one's art.

YoYo,
Thanks I have been wanting to take this shot for awhile I am glad you like it.
Herriot,
Here are the settings 14mm, F/11, 2.5secs, ISO200 I had to go press the button on the pole to get the light to change to the little man and he would only stay on for a couple of seconds. I also play with the WB on night shots. I can't remember what it was on here but I rarely leave it in auto. I am thinking flash setting 3.
Rodger,
Sleep? My wife works third shift, and I work first, We have a two year old we really don't want in daycare so I let her stay up late where she will sleep in with my wife in the morning. On nights that my wife is off I go out early. I had to deal with a couple of flares on this one. Thanks for the compliments. And yes this is digital, I finally bought an E500

Nice shot. The exposure and composition works. This is very minor but I would like a slightly tighter crop to get rid of the lower right corner of the sidewalk edge. You mentioned you adjusted the white balance but perhaps more work in post to remove the yellow/green cast might give the shot a more natural appearance.
I've been shooting in RAW more and more so I can adjust WB on my computer. It's great

I agree, once I started shooting in RAW I never looked back. I found out this last weekend that changing the WB on nightshots can make a big difference in the color.

Thanks CF, I did have one more from the night, The Desoto. I posted it a week or two ago. It's in my gallery. I really like night shootong I just don't do it often enough.

A catchy title and well composed and exposed photo. I have resisted going more to raw mode but with what I've seen from Lightroom I may just start using it more.
Don't forget about the Gallery. Are your photos there??

I think the hue of this picture makes it. If you had the right white balance then it wouldn't be the same.
