Crank it up!

The levels that is. I know, I know, I have a tendency to over do my levels adjustments and processing anyway :o Well, today I felt like taking a couple shots and going overboard with them. Just playing around, trying to get creative. How'd I do?

I like the cat on the bed as an idea. A slightly different angle, higher, that uses a little more of the stripes beneatht the cat and watch how the door frame falls behind the main part of your photograph. There's excess color noise in this that could, but doesn't quite work.

The second photo I would say has more sidewalk than it needs. The small amount of blue sky (a bit oversaturated, perhaps intentionally) should be larger to balance this centered composition.

The intensity of colors is a strong idea to explore.

Thanks drg :) The one of my cat I tried to get differently but, every time I got up and tried to get closer to him he would wake and I wanted to catch him napping. The noise was intentional but couldn't quite get it exactly how I envisioned it. As for the pathway, I tried different angles, moving the horizon up/down. None felt perfect to me. This was the closest I liked. I need to get my head to envision cropping more. I have too much of a tendency when shooting to think of solely what's in the viewfinder as to what the overall layout is going to be. Also, I kind of have it beaten into my head about avoiding horizon in the middle. Is this one of those cases where it would be better to have it balanced? Again, with this one, the saturation levels and contrasting were intentional. Thanks again for your input. If anything, these 2 shots were great practice for playing/learning Lightroom and Photoshop for me :)
