a couple implied nudes from Friday

Not sure if the chopped body parts take too much away or not. I do have both of these zoomed out somewhat further...

The eyes in the first shot are very distracting. Not sure what is up with them but they kind of have a blood shot look to them. And in the second shot the tan lines give me a wierd optical illusion that is not flattering to the model...

Thanks Summer, there wasn't a whole lot of PP done to these - some minor skin smoothing, contrast adjustment and frizzed hair removal. I did remove the tan lines from the first shot.
These any better?

Jet - I have loved your work in this area and such, but pardon me if I say these particular shots seem to be a step back. The lighting isn't flattering, the compositions a bit too strange, and perhaps the angles you took them at aren't the best. I do like the hair light but it doesn't illuminate enough of her hair. I still see the tan lines.

Don't feel bad -- a miss every now and then, multiplied by 5, and you will come down to my level :D

GB no need to say "pardon me". I truly appreciate your input as you are one of the few here that understands what goes into these type of shots, and takes the time to provide feedback. Most of the shots that I put in the critique forum are ones I'm unsure of for whatever reason, not for the "atta boys". I was a bit apprehensive about this shoot to begin with and a lot more post processing went into these than usual. The originals were considerably lighter, but I went for more of a "dark and moody" feel in PP but knew full well I was pushing the boundaries (how else will I know where they are? :D)

Jet, totally agree on the reason for posting on the forum. I also sometimes feel enthusiastic about a shot but just know it isn't good enough in every way to make it over the top, but am not sure why; hence, the reason to post here!

I also like dark and moody but whether it works for a particular shot depends on a lot of things, the model's demeanor for one. I think she's a bit too chipper for that here :D Anyway ..

Btw, if you're looking for great shots as a source of inspiration, check out David Kimber's lighting for glamour photography books. Incredible work!
