Re: Contrast
Liban,
Interesting shot. Great human factor IMO and some neat lines and colors to break the "blandness" of the grey sky. There is some vingetting going on, though I love the tone to this.
Well done,
Jared

Re: Contrast
Thanks Jared.
I added the vignetting manually. I'm interested in what you think of it. Does it work for you? I've been on a vignet loving streek lately (I don't know why). Although, does it look natural or does it look fake?

Re: Contrast
LeeIs,
Looks natural, and it works alright on this picture as I review it. It doesn't totally disturb anything, and if anything, it probably helps the top right hand corner.
Neat effect.

Re: Contrast
And....it's framed well. It enhances the whole picture. Well done.

Re: Contrast
One is grounded while the other is stil having his/her last fun moment ... A great candid shot imo , simple yet not that simple .... Great Shot !

Re: Contrast
Thanks swmdrayfan. I owe the framing to juzzus.
Juzzus,
Thanks. Yeah that is one of the contrast(s) of this shot. I forgot to add the (s) when typing in the thread title. The other which as prominent for me is the red & green chutes. Red & green being opposites. I also find it quite humurous that the red one was the one flying while the green one which more of a "go" colour was the one that was grounded. I'm glad you've found this interesting.
A little background: Actually the green guy was trying to take off for quite some time but just couldn't then after a few minutes of trying the instructors (as he was still learning) would tell him to hold on and aid someone else to takeoff. A few people took off and he had that same look on his face everytime someone takes off. It must have very frustrating for him. I actually left the area before he was successful and I'm not sure if he ever did. :)

About the vignetting, I don't really care for it. I can't say that it hurts the image but I don't think that it brings an improvement so I would personally tend to keep things simplier and I would avoid this kind of edit.
