    Contact - One Touch

Went gallivanting with my Digi Compact yesterday and this is one of the results. Would love to hear what you think.
    Many thanks

Tom I like it. B&W is perfect for the lighting. Great composition and subject.

    Re: Contact - One Touch

I kind of like this, not for its excellent photo quality but because it makes me want to look at pick up details and wondering what's happening. The lady and girl being girls, the boy being a boy, what's he hanging on, what has the girl's attention, are they together..wondering stuff like this makes photos interesting to me.

    Re: Contact - One Touch

Tom, I like this also. There is something about the girl all in white and the glowing lighting that has me feeling as though she could be a ghost of the little girl. Perhaps reaching out to her mother who lost her a short time ago. My imagination going astray again. . .
As Frog says, there is much to think about with the bits and pieces there are to gather.
    Good stuff.

This is the kind of image which demands that I study it (obsessively), trying to determine whether my eyes are playing tricks on me. A simple enough slice-of-life, yet the girl does not seem of this Earth. The effect is quite odd, but incredibly alluring. Very Wings Of Desire.

    Well-seen and caught.

Thank you all for your comments and thank you for making the image a Sticky.
Greg and Frog; Thanks. Always great to see you on the forum Greg. I tend to look at images in a similar way to you Frog.

Gary and Dray; The "appearance" of the young girl became the essence of the image for me. The delicate touch on the woman's shoulder and the careful tip toeing as if not to disturb her. I'm so glad that is how you have seen it too.

Rick; I'm glad you picked up on the tip toeing too. Many thanks.

Icicle; I'm delighted you are enjoying the image too.

As a matter of interest does anyone consider the boy behind to be superfluous or a distraction?

    Re: Contact - One Touch

It would be a different image, just as good in its own way, without the boy. But no, I like him in there. His "realness" provides contrast to the girl, making her look all the more unreal.

Speaking of realness... man... I'm looking at this again, looking at the girl, and I can't believe she is!

Congrats on the Sticky. There were quite a few very strong contenders this time around, which speaks to the power - and grace - of this image. Well done.

    Re: Contact - One Touch

    I had to look again.
I like how the boy's one foot is touching the ground, and how the girl appears to be standing on one foot, touching lightly with one finger, and the older lady is playing on her phone with what appears with one finger.

    I really like it.

Tom, awesome image man. It's very surreal and I agree with all that's been said above. The little girl looks like she's trying to contact her mother. Also congrats on the sticky!

I also think that without the boy it would neither be better nor worse, just different. It would be all about the little girl without the boy, but with him it is more about the entire setting and the gilr is the added featured attraction.

    Re: Contact - One Touch

First of all thank you so much for making my image the featured image; it is a lovely honour.
Thanks Michael and Gary for your comments.
Your comments regarding the presence or not of the boy are exactly what I thought when I had played a bit just to see. I think there is a pretty strong picture there without him but his presence gives the shot that little extra dimension and that is why I choose to post the image including him.
Thanks again to all the other contributors to this thread.
