    Re: Condensation Consideration

Cindy, I was going to inquire about your prop, but then I read a few days of your blog, and it became clear (no pun intended). The condensation gives an impression of profuse sweating, maybe even some tears. I think you'll find some pretty creative things to do with the head. In this composition, I just don't get the feeling that the greenery belongs in the scene. If there was more of a hint of a rainy day, perhaps it would be better. Also, the brownish colored leaf or stem going from the subject's left cheek to right eye is a little distracting.

I hope you'll post some other compositions with this, it will be interesting to see what you come up with!

    Re: Condensation Consideration

Truthfully the original concept I was going for was a trite title like "Thinking Green". I kind of got lost trying to figure out what else I could say and Condensation Consideration came out.

There is definitely perspiration and tears going on in the head. For each of these shots the plant had to live and breathe in the jar for a day or two to get up a nice bead of "sweat".

Here is another shot using a different plant. The first is a spider plant and yes I agree, the brown is distracting. I'm going to keep working this idea for a minute so I'll experiment with grooming different plants for life in the jar. The second is a nasturtium I was hoping would bloom in the head after a few days but no buds yet, I may try again once the plant is a little further along.

Weird one Cindy, but like the experimenting. I do like the first post better, the composition and lighting is better. New artsy direction?

Yup. Mostly exercise to keep me from getting in a rut. Trying to re-interpret the same object to look different significantly different each time. An empty head is only empty until you fill it up with something.
