    Glowing Hula Hoops at dusk...

Shot with my canon xt at night, 35mm lens - i just used a very soft flash (I put coffee filters on it, so really soften the effect) and raw mode, super high res, and slowed the shutter every so slightly, to get the motion and really make her stand out against the sky - my fave is the one with the pink sky...

Janie,,,,WOW!!!!!Brilliant images...Not easy to shoot and post process..Only one little point bothers me,,,in the pink sky ones is the shadow behind the arms,,easily cloned out with PS..I love the 3rd one best..There is just enough separation between her hair and the background..

    Take a bow!!

Now,,tell me about the coffee filters..

Thank you! I have 420 left to go through! lol Yeah, that shadow is odd - but it's due to the slightly slowed shutter - I wasn't sure if I liked it or not because in my tired stuper last night, I thought it might give the motion effect, but instead it almost looks like there is a backdrop or something. I'll be adding more of these photos to this thread today, of pics that were taking earlier than dusk - We shot for 2 hours and took about 450 pictures!

Oh! And the coffee filters - The on camera flash has a tendency to be harsh so I cut 3 coffee filters to fit over the on camera flash and just taped it over so there was no leaking light. It's cheaper and easier and seems to be softer than the plastic ones you buy to mount over the flash!

You know, I actually started out taking pictures of flowers - they really are great for practicing lighting, perspective and so much more on a small scale! And they are very patient! lol Now when I feel like practicing with a new lens, I shoot flowers! lol

Good idea Janie,,,I tend to use a plastic disposable drinking cup as a filter...Maybe we should get together...I'll bring the cups,,you the filter and someone can bring the coffee..

I heard you can develope film in coffee

I'm not one for model shots and glamour looking stuff, seems to be everywhere...but you did a great job with these. A great idea with beautiful results. The colors are just excellent and I have nothing to say that would improve these...Bravo indeed!

And your model is drop dead gorgeous :blush2:

    Cheers.

Wow. These are some of the best and most original images I've seen here in a long time. Pretty girl with a nice smile and you've caughts ome great angles and colors. Some of these have a Holga-type quality, too. Thanks for sharing.
