Colonial Stockbridge
This is a photo of a trip to Stockbridge MA. The towns center for one weekend, is transformed back to the time when Norman Rockwell called the small New England town home.

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
I think this is a good subject and i like your composition with centering it here and framed in with the trees. I have to say that for me this is too contrasty and a bit over the top in post processing. I do like it overall, but just seems too overdone for my taste.
thanks for posting and definetely good work.

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
I love the starkness of this photo, and the duotone effect works really well here. well done.

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
First of all , welcome to the forums.
Second, nice shot. It is definitely a keeper and I like the application of the effect to create the vintage look.
The only part that I would prefer to be different here is for the house itself to be sharper. The rest of the photo - the sky, the trees, and to a lesser extent the snow - look great being soft. Time to try a variant?
Welcome again.

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
I've come back to this several times trying to decide if I like it or not.
One time it seems over done and the next time it doesn't.
I think you got exactly what you wanted and the rest is a matter of taste.

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
I really like it. I keep thinking that odd post, the one that is in front of the rest, and aligned with the row of windows to the far left is a little girl in a white dress...

Thank you Frog, and you're right-I did exactly what I wanted out of this shot. :)

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
Welcome to the forum!
Lovely shot. I really like this image. I'm familiar with the building and area as I visit Stockbridge a few times a year - one of my favorite places. I have a few "snaps" of the building, but nothing as classic as this image.
IMO your photo captures the spirit of Stockbridge.

Re: Colonial Stockbridge
Very nice job on the composition and conversion. Processing is pushing the limits, but I don't think you've gone overboard.
