    Church door.

Once again, a shot from my recent journey in NYC. I can't remember which church exactly but it was in the Financial District of the lower Manhattan. Perhaps someone can figure which church it is.

Seb; It's 2.30 am in London and I could not sleep so I thought I would have a browse.

Colour tones all round are beautiful and the 'necklace' of green moss is lovely.
But I feel it is cropped too tightly and needs a little breathing space. I think also it is tilting slightly to the right.
very attractive image all the same.

LOVE the symmetry on this picture. Great use of colors and effective use of lines and symmettry!

    Loving it,

    Hi Seb,
The colour combination is very harmonising. Agreed with Tom that the cropping is a bit tight.

I agree with all of the previous posts. I like architectural shots of very old buildings. The colors are great with nice soft light. It is cropped too tight, though.

    Hey guys,

Thanks for commenting. The picture is tilted. I didn't saw it at the first place but you are right about it. About the crop, I see your point. I wanted to to preserve a perfect 6x4 ratio but the picture would probably benefit from a slightly irregular ratio to leave more space on the sides.

It appears that nobody noticed that I have cloned out an annoying branch in the upper right corner of the picture. I'll take it as a compliment ;)

    regards

I like this seb. I get the feeling that it's going to open up and the wizzard of OZ is going to be standing there on the other side...

It's just a lil' slanted to the right, and a bit cool for me. I'd do an arb. and warm up the hue a bit.

    Hey Seb,
The lighting is soft and compliments the subject nicely. Just enough to bring out some of the tones in the door. I think this is a good subject and a good shot, but I do agree with the other comments on it being cropped too tightly. Is this the church across from Ground Zero?
Before I read your reply, I did notice something about the upper right area, but thought it might have been some slight wash out from the lighting.

    Hey Almo and Gary,

    Thanks for commenting.

Gary, this is not the St-Paul's chapel next to Ground Zero. Actually, this church is fairly bigger and more to the south (rather close to "the Bull" if it can be of any help).

Almo, I take your comment into consideration. Colors might be a bit cold as you said.
