    Chilly Spokane Falls

    Same location, different season.

The thread is for the snowy one, the other is just for reference

I want to do a 4 seasons set of this location. The winter shot just doesn't seem as striking as the spring shot, I wonder if they complement each-other or does the Spring shot totally overshadow the Spring shot?

The spring shot is unique in that the runoff is from a near-record breaking winter, the winter shot is unique in that it's shortly after a record shattering month of snow.

*same focal length, the snow was just so deep I couldn't get near as close as in the Spring.

    Re: Chilly Spokane Falls

Both images are really nice, and I don't think one overpowers the other, but the one thing that jumps out at me is that there is some serious perspective distortion going on in the first (winter) shot, that should probably be corrected (look at how the far left and right bldgs. lean way out at their tops)

Same lens, same focal length, but GIMP moved controls around between versions and I can't seem to find the distort tool :mad2:

I'll give processing it another shot later today when I'm awaker than I was last night

I really like this spot you've found, can't wait to see the rest of the seasons.

I was about to comment on the distortions as well.. You do need to correct this so that all of the photo's match.

After fixing the distortion, I think it will look great in a large version.
