    B&W artichoke

    I recently posted another picture from this series...but I think I've decided this is my favorite...just wondering what you thought.. thanks for the feedback.

    I've never seen that angle on an Artichoke

    Very cool. Simple, bright. Great textures. The twine adds a lot IMO.

    I like the image. There is a certain artistic quality to this due to the overall composition and also the b&w. I like the "negative" white space up in the left frame. I would have liked to see a little more sharpness throughout, especially on the twine area. I get the feeling there was some diffused lighting or soft focus effects used?
    A bit more sharpening and possibly a very slight contrast increase I think would help, but I really like this .

    Like Gary mentioned, it certainly has an artistic feel to it. But I still find the same problems that I saw in the prev. artichoke posting: too shallow a DOF, blown out background, and a composition that I'm not really thrilled about. I'd try a reshoot and add some more DOF, see what you get.. The black and white rendering of it is fine.
