There is a lot to enjoy in this very carefully composed image. I especially like the old car. There is something timeless with having a car like that, and questions are raised such as: who owns it? is it an important person? In short, I think the image would not have worked so well had the car been a normal modern car. The car you have adds to it.
In an ideal world, I might not have wanted the sky to be such an inky black - it makes the reflection a little less than it could be I think. But, sometimes you have to take what you're given!
One of your best here Liban. The edge of the water has left a lovely damp patch on the tarmac and the light streaks on the road work so well. It all comes together perfectly. The colour black on the car is unusual. Most of those old American autos are usually more colourful; at least the ones I saw.
Your trip to Cuba has been most fruitful.
I have a total lack of respect for anything connected with society, except that which makes the roads safer, the beer stronger, the food cheaper, and the old men and old women warmer in the winter and happier in the summer. Brendan Behan
I agree one of your best. I really like the streaks in the water. It almost looks like oil. The dark car fits the scene. It could be some shadey underhanded deals going on late in the Capital. Cool shot my friend. Cool.
I am like Barney Fife, I have a gun but Andy makes me keep the bullet in my pocket..
I keep looking for a chance to do a reflected shot like this, but yours is so sharp and you get a nice car like that too, karma is on your side, my friend.
Javier, I like the mood the darkness brings to the top 2/3rds. but thank a lot for the comment and suggestion man.
Thanks Armando.
Mike, yeah, I was shooting late at night for this shoot. I usually like shooting at blue hour when there's a bit of light in the sky but not for this day. I was driving to havana at that time. thank you.
mriley, thank you.
Tom, i'm surprised you guys like this one this much, but i'm glad it does. Yeah, i think 90% of my best photographs are usually from cuba. i love that island. thanks man.
Thanks Greg!
Thanks Arne, wait for the rain my friend
