    By Candle Light... C&C Please
    Hey guys,

This is a couple of close ups of a candle burning. I metered for the middle light between the hot flame and the shadows. I pretty much got what I was going for, in that the bright flame and top of the votive were bright, srounded by deep blackness. However I think it could be done better, so advice would be greatly aprrecatied.

I think you captured it fine. I prefer the focus of the top image as it is on the wick and it just appeals to me more.

I like the texture on top of the candle, but would like to have a greater DOF, to bring the flame and wick into focus.

That said, I like the angle, background and composition of #2

You definitely have something here. I sort of like the out of focus effect, at least from an expt angle. I am not sure of the composition/vert format of the shot. I like the black background that your camera captured here.
