Canary Wharf Tube Station
Been for a long wander today taking photos - this is one of them. Its quite a high contrast image, and I'm not sure if that harms it too much. Haven't manipulated it at all yet, this is 'as shot'. If anyone has any thoughts on it they are welcome as always.
Many thanks,
matt

Matt,
Nice shot. Beautiful tones in the black and white and I love the symmetry. Great shot, and lovely shooting,
Jared

I love structure of and the lighting from the ceiling. I am not too sure about the central column which splits the shot.

Re: Canary Wharf Tube Station
Thanks Jared.
Yoyo - I was quietly cursing the architects for putting that column there, but I suppose they were worried about the whole edifice collapsing or something. Surely their primary concern should have been for us photography enthusiasts though ;-)

Re: Canary Wharf Tube Station
Hi Matt,
I like this image and don't have a problem with the contrast. In fact I like the contrast. My only comments are I feel a need to see the left edge of the escalator and about sharpness (probably a result of downsizing for the web).
That is a neat location and worthy of many studies.
Cheers,
Tim
Re: Canary Wharf Tube Station
Thanks for your thoughts Tim. I think I may have actually lopped off a little from the left hand side of the shot because it seemed a bit unbalanced with the central column too far to the right. When you first glance at the escalators you think the whole thing is symmetrical, but then you realise that there is that extra one on the left - it makes the choice of framing a bit tricky!

Re: Canary Wharf Tube Station
nice shot, i like the symmetry, the contrasts, the BW color, the patterns and repetition, the bustling activity.
Very nice, I bet that would be cool with a Wide angle lens. or a fisheye lens
