    Calla

    This is a picture my sister took this last summer and wanted some critique on. What do you think?

    Nice shot. Might benefit from some darkening of the sky. And more contrast in general

    The composition is ok even if centered. You really need to do your flower shots in early morning or late afternoon into evening. The colors are really washed out in this mid-day sun shot and do the flower and foliage no justice.
    There is a brown diagonal in the bg that appears to be a roofline. I'd clone it out

    I agree that less light would've made this shot stronger. The light is a bit much now. I don't mind the composition, the colours work, those greens contrasting that red peddle. that would've jumped out even more if the whole frame was a bit more subdued than it is.
