    Re: O Christmas Tree

I really like the first shot of the star and bauble, it 'sells' Christmas to me. Playing around on my computer, I preferred a slightly tighter crop though. I shaved a little off the right hand side, and a touch off the bottom as well. The idea was that the entire bottom right hand corner of the photo would be taken up with the bauble. Not being able to see the edge of it increased the sense of an 'abundance' of gold, which seemed to fit the message to my mind.

With the second shot, as a general rule the minute you have any sort of face in a picture your eyes are drawn to its eyes. In this case the face of the fairy looked damaged (or is this just on my monitor?). I found I couldn't get over that, my eyes kept going back to it. Also, given the importance of the face as a focal point, I wondered if it might have benefitted from a slightly more 'dynamic' composition (I'm thinking of the 'rule of thirds').

I'm humming carols to myself now though.

I like the star and ball one too. Do you have a fireplace? I think it would be even better if you could get the reflection of a fireplace (with stockings!) in the ball or something like that(if you have one)
    Nice picture idea!

Give the second one a crop once the ed ribbon comes to an end at the side.
Photos are memories that last a lifetime.
